Land & inland transport

Release is not the finish line. The cargo is still in the yard, and it needs moving at the right moment.

From port to door

We move shipments from Aqaba Port, Queen Alia Airport and the land crossings to any point in Jordan. Because clearance and transport sit in the same file here, the carrier is booked against the expected release date rather than after it — which saves days of demurrage and storage.

What we move

  • Full containers from the port yard to your warehouse
  • Split consignments after devanning and consolidation
  • Goods needing refrigerated transport or special handling
  • Internal distribution to several customers from one consignment

Cargo insurance

We arrange insurance on the cargo during transport. Tell us the value and nature of the goods and we will set out the options before loading.

The Aqaba to Amman lane

This is Jordan's busiest lane, and the thing most often misjudged on it is time. Aqaba Port to Amman is roughly three and a half hours by truck — but the journey does not start at release. It starts when the carrier reaches the yard and loads. If the booking only began after release, there is at least a full day between the two, and that day is charged as storage.

We run this lane into Amman and its industrial areas — Sahab, Al-Muwaqqar, Marka, Al-Qwaismeh — and on to Zarqa, Irbid, Mafraq and Madaba. And when the destination is Amman specifically, another option is worth weighing: clearing the shipment at Amman's Al-Madouna customs depot instead of Aqaba, so the goods arrive near your warehouse and then clear, rather than the other way round.

What makes transport cost more than it should

  • Late booking. The truck is booked after release instead of against the expected release date — so the cargo sits in the yard for a day or two for no reason.
  • An empty return leg. A truck that runs up loaded from Aqaba and returns empty is priced for both directions. Pairing it with another movement brings that down.
  • The wrong vehicle. A trailer or flatbed that does not suit the size or nature of the goods means reloading, damage, or a second trip.
  • An unsettled delivery address. The truck arrives and nobody is there to receive it, or the warehouse has no suitable forklift — and the waiting is charged.

All four are settled before loading with a question or two, which is why we ask about the delivery address, the unloading method and the receiving hours on day one, not on the day of arrival.

Moving from the airport and the crossings

Air freight arrives in smaller quantities, usually moves on a smaller vehicle and at a faster tempo — cargo you paid air rates for has no business waiting two days on the apron. Cargo from the land crossings already arrives on a truck, so the question there is not transport but whether it is devanned and reloaded or continues to its destination on the same vehicle.

Cross-border road freight

Alongside movements inside Jordan, we arrange road transport crossing the border in both directions. Each destination has its crossing:

  • To Saudi Arabia and the Gulf — through the Al-Omari border post, a point we work at directly, or through Al-Mudawwara and Al-Durra in the south. From Saudi Arabia cargo continues overland to the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
  • To Iraq — through the Al-Karameh border post in the east along the desert highway, the busiest route out of Aqaba Port.
  • To Syria — through the Jaber border post in the north, and Ramtha.

Cargo crossing the border without entering the Jordanian market travels under transit status, with its own declaration and guarantees that only close on proof of exit. We handle the Jordanian side in full — and claim no offices outside Jordan; the procedure inside the destination country is handled by a broker there.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

When is the carrier booked — before release or after?
Before. When clearance and transport sit in one file, the carrier is booked against the expected release date, so the cargo moves the day it leaves the yard. Booking after release is what adds days of storage charges.
Where in Jordan do you deliver?
Anywhere in the Kingdom: Amman, Sahab, Zarqa, Irbid, Mafraq, Madaba and Aqaba itself. The busiest lane is Aqaba to Amman and its industrial suburbs.
Do you move full containers, or split loads too?
Both. We move a full container from the yard to your warehouse, move split consignments after devanning and consolidation, and distribute a single consignment to several customers where needed.
Is the cargo insured during transport?
We arrange cargo insurance; it is not automatic. Tell us the value and nature of the goods before loading and we will set out the options and what each covers.

Send us the documents — we'll tell you what's missing

We read the invoice, certificate of origin and bill of lading, and tell you what will stop your shipment before it arrives — not after it is sitting in the yard. No obligation.
